What can you do with a Boating License?
The most accessible certification to get you started in recreational boating: quick, no exam required, and with enough privileges for your first outings.
Up to 6 m in length
It is designed for small recreational boats, which are ideal for getting started in boating.

Enough distance to sail near ports and coves without straying too far from the coast.
Daytime navigation
Approved for navigation exclusively during daylight hours.
Jet skis
Any type of jet ski, with no additional license required.
No potential limitation
The Boating License does not impose any restrictions on engine power.
No exam
It is the only boating certification that can be obtained solely through training, without an official exam.

Requirements for Obtaining a Boating License
You don’t need any prior qualifications. These are the four official requirements:
16 years of age or older
Minimum age to enroll in the course.
Theoretical course lasting at least 2 hours
In-person theoretical training, included in the course.
4 hours of hands-on training
Basic safety and navigation practices, all in one day.
Psychological Assessment Certificate
At a center authorized by the government. Not included in the price.
Course Content for the Boating License Course
What does the LN course entail?
The Boating License does not require an exam: it is a 6-hour theoretical and practical course that takes place over a single day, divided into two sessions:
Theory (2 hours)
- Basic Navigation Regulations - Aids to Navigation and Signals - Safety and Emergencies at Sea - Basic Meteorology
Practicum (4 hours)
- Boat handling - Basic docking and anchoring maneuvers - Onboard safety rules - Daytime navigation practices
The course is held over a single day, with mandatory attendance for the full 6 hours. Schedule: theory from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and practical training from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Where and when is the course held?
The course takes place at the Monte Real Yacht Club (MRCY) in Bayonne, in a single 6-hour session.
The fee is non-refundable. If the course cannot take place due to weather conditions, we will offer you alternative dates.

A single, fixed price for the entire course: theory, practical training, and certificate.

Creo que su idea de hacer las prácticas con grupos reducidos, es un plus a favor de los alumnos ya que disponemos de ese puntito de atención individualizada que cada uno necesitamos.
Consiguen también que la convivencia entre los integrantes de las tripulaciones sea realmente agradable.
En cuanto a embarcaciones (conozco tres de ellas) y material a bordo, ni un pero. En ninguna de las tres ocasiones que he navegado con ellos he tenido queja.
Sin olvidar a su personal de oficina, siempre dispuesta a echar un cabo en cuanto a papeleo, información o dudas.

The fee is non-refundable. If the course cannot take place due to weather conditions, we will offer you a new date at no additional cost.
What is the difference between a Boating License and the PER?
The Boating License authorizes the operation of boats up to 6 meters in length, within 2 miles of the coast, and during daylight hours, without an exam. The PER expands these limits to boats up to 15 meters in length and within 12 miles of the coast, and requires passing a theory exam and completing additional practical training.
