Navigation Academy

MILE BUILDING

Doing miles and gaining experience is essential for any budding sailor.

Embark on Julio Verne Nautica’s Mile Building trips for world-class sailing and training.

Trainee RYA skippers requiring 60 mile passages are advised to first obtain the theoretical Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster.

MONOHULL OR CATAMARAN IMPROVEMENT PRACTICES

The knowledge acquired in the courses of Spanish nautical degrees is mostly theoretical and not enough to acquire the skills and safety necessary to master a boat. Through these improvement practices, you will gain experience in sailing and have the opportunity to put your navigation knowledge into practice, gain safety and confidence on board and thus enjoy the sea. The practices are recommended for skippers or crew members with previous knowledge in their own boats, schools or qualifications.

IMPROVEMENT PRACTICES

Improve your confidence
and safety on board

The knowledge acquired in the courses of Spanish nautical degrees is mostly theoretical and not enough to acquire the skills and safety necessary to master a boat.

Do you need several attempts when anchoring? Is the docking of the ship your most feared moment? Don’t you dare to navigate alone? Or can’t you enjoy the wind when it goes beyond 10 knots?

Through these improvement practices, you will gain experience in sailing and have the opportunity to put your navigation knowledge into practice, gain safety and confidence on board and thus enjoy the sea. The practices are recommended for skippers or crew members with previous knowledge in their own boats, schools or qualifications.

DOCKING

Completely practical monographic course dedicated to improving docking skills and establishing guidelines to, in particular, continue practicing and improving skills of both the skipper and the crew.
The course is carried out in a monohull or in a catamaran.

CREW

Course focused by and for sailors who do not want/can be skippers but who want to be important and help on board. Every good skipper was before a good crew member. With this course you ensure, at least at a technical level, that you sail on the best boat that exists: your friend’s/relative’s boat.
