Boat Rentals

Please fill out the reservation form, indicating the boat you would like and the number of crew members, along with your dates, and contact us to check availability. If you are satisfied with our proposal, please let us know and we will hold a spot for you (which you can typically keep for seven days), or you may proceed directly with your reservation. This form must be returned signed along with your reservation payment. Reservations will not be confirmed until the initial deposit has been received. We recommend that for charters during the high season, reservations be made several months in advance.

50% of the rental price is due at the time of booking, and the balance must be paid 4 weeks before check-out. All payments must be made by bank transfer. For reservations made within 30 days of check-out, full payment is required to confirm the reservation.

Chartering a bareboat yacht requires the skipper to present a valid boating license: an appropriate Spanish boating license or an international license recognized in Spain. The skipper may also be asked to submit a sailing resume so that we can assess his or her ability to sail safely. Julio Verne Náutica reserves the right to require charterers to hire a skipper—regardless of the skipper’s certification—if our staff deems his or her sailing skills insufficient.

In addition to the necessary qualifications, you must already have experience in sailing without a crew and we will evaluate your previous experience. If you don’t have one, don’t worry, you can request one of our skippers who are also instructors so that you can enjoy your charter while improving your nautical skills.

If you need a skipper, Julio Verne Náutica can provide you with one of our professional skippers for as many days as you wish. Even if you have sailing experience, you may want to hire a skipper to make your cruise more relaxing and to benefit from their local knowledge. Please remember that the skipper needs food and drink, as he is required to sleep on board.

All yacht charters Julio Verne Náutica are strictly limited to Spanish waters. Exceptions to this rule must be discussed and agreed between the parties prior to booking.

Weekly sailing yacht charters start and end Saturdays. In any case (also in the high season period) Julio Verne Náutica will try to accommodate your wishes for different days of the week and irregular time periods, such as a four or five day charter.

All charters lasting less than a week begin at 11:00 a.m. on the day of departure and end at 9:00 p.m. on the day the yacht arrives at the marina.

Weekly charters begin on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. and end the following Saturday before 7:00 a.m. You must arrive at the marina by 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Our home port is the Monte Real Yacht Club in Bayona (Ría de Vigo). You may board or disembark at other ports (depending on boat availability), but an additional fee will apply. The cost varies depending on the location of the other ports. Please refer to our price list.

The deposit serves to cover the deductible of the yacht insurance and to guarantee all costs that are not covered when boarding. If after the charter there is no damage or loss to the yacht or its equipment, Julio Verne Náutica will refund the security deposit.

However, in the event of any damage and/or loss, the remaining balance of the security deposit will only be refunded after a full assessment of the repair costs for the damage and/or loss incurred and the deduction of those costs. The security deposit covers, but is not limited to: loss and/or damage to the vessel, its equipment, and civil liability; loss and/or damage to equipment; costs incurred if the vessel is returned in an unacceptably dirty condition; the cost of returning the boat to the designated port if the charterer fails to do so by the scheduled date and time; and the cost of refueling if the boat is returned with empty tanks.

Julio Verne Náutica’s yachts and the company’s activities are covered by adequate insurance for maritime tourism operations, far exceeding the minimum legal requirements.

• General Liability: 250,000 euros
• Personal Injury: 3,500 euros per person. The aforementioned yacht insurance policies are valid in excess of the security deposit.

In your own interest, we recommend that you take a suitable travel insurance including travel cancellation insurance to protect your booking deposit.
