There will come a day when you’ll face the challenge of sailing without anyone to advise or instruct you. This transition from a sailing course to sailing as the skipper—with you solely responsible for everything that happens on board, good or bad—is often a huge leap and can sometimes even be traumatic.
Of course, renting a boat with your family and friends to gradually gain confidence can be very expensive (learning through trial and error) or damaging to your relationships (yelling, stress, etc.).
This course is the push you need to stop being a student and become the skipper. It consists of 48 hours of guided, remote training where you’re in the driver’s seat: we’ll support you remotely, in addition to providing training at the beginning and end of the winter training program.

You’ve done your homework, you have your certification, and you’ve taken advanced courses, but you want to charter a boat on your own—yet you still lack the confidence to charter a boat by yourself and bring your family or friends on board.
Your doubts don't

It’s no use knowing the types of clouds if you just stare at the sky, lower the sails, and start the engine with a poker face when the wind picks up. We’ll help you make the right decisions, so you can stay calm and guide the boat and crew.
You learn from your mistakes
It’s much better to mess up with us around than to do it on your vacation, with the €3,000 security deposit flying straight into the rental company’s pocket. Here, mistakes are learning opportunities; on a charter flight, they’re painful and costly blunders.

Being a good skipper is 30% about sailing the boat and 70% about managing the people on board. We’ll teach you how to lead with calm, communication, and empathy so that your friends and family feel comfortable and safe.

If it’s called recreational sailing, it’s because it’s fun. By the end of this course, you’ll know how to rise to the challenge, and you’ll have overcome your fears and insecurities on board.
These training sessions are structured in two-day blocks so that we can develop an action plan to address weaknesses and build on your strengths. All of this is done with a private sailing coach who focuses on your specific needs.
