Maritime-Terrestrial National Park of Atlantic Islands of Galicia<\/h2>

Talking about a park makes us think of lush forests in large tracts of land. But this is not the case of the Parque Nacional Mar\u00edtimo-Terrestre de Islas Atl\u00e1nticas de Galicia. A name as long as it is unique, and why is it so special? <\/p>

A National Park is a figure that protects, preserves and prevents the deterioration of the ecosystems that live there, so that future generations can enjoy these spaces.<\/p>

The beauty of the archipelagos rivals that found beneath the waters, the great variety of microorganisms is the basis of the food chain that sustains the extraordinary marine wealth of the Park. Fishing uses artisanal techniques and is regulated in a way that is compatible with the conservation of the Park’s seabed. <\/p>

About access and other information about the Park:
To access the National Park it is necessary to have an authorization, which can be obtained through the website www.autorizaci\u00f3nillasatlanticas.xunta.gal. This authorization is a requirement for the purchase of the transport ticket in the authorized shipping companies, which can be consulted at www.illasatlanticas.gal.<\/p>

Each island of each archipelago has an undeniable natural value, but as a whole its importance is multiplied. This is a clear example in which the phrase “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts” takes on a special meaning. <\/p>

The abundance of life that inhabits the islands is a representative sample of the flora and fauna of the Atlantic coasts. The charm of being concentrated in a relatively small portion of territory attracts the gaze of all visitors. Added to this, the geological characteristics, the history dating back to the Bronze Age and the proximity to the coast make the Park a very attractive and visited place. That is why conservation is the main priority. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

C\u00edes Archipelago<\/h3>

Once populated, the C\u00edes islands offer a good sample of cultural heritage: ruins of monasteries, forts, salting factories and warehouses of the carabineros. Among its attractions are the beach of Rodas, considered one of the most beautiful in the world, the C\u00edes lighthouse, hiking trails through the forests, cliffs and seabird colonies. <\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Cortegada Archipelago<\/h3>

Ons Archipelago<\/h3>

Ons and Onza are the main islands that form it. The island of Ons has a population of about 60 inhabitants, who are mainly engaged in fishing and tourism. The island of Onza is a reserve area and is not inhabited. Among its attractions are its fine sandy beaches, its cliffs with caves such as the Buraco do Inferno. Ons is distinguished by the rocky platform that surrounds it creating a shallow and very rich seabed. <\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

S\u00e1lvora Archipelago<\/h3>

The island has beaches, dunes, rocks, an abandoned village, a lighthouse, a chapel and a fountain with legends. There are very curious stone formations and it is flat with a maximum height of 71 meters. For safety and conservation reasons, the visit to the village of S\u00e1lvora can only be made in the company of guides authorized by the National Park. <\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
